"Your Best 2172" Contest WINNERS!

It's the time we've been waiting for!  Time to announce the winners of the "Your Best 2172 Contest."

First thank you to everyone who submitted their creations.  Seriously, they were all really fantastic looking and it made choosing between them really, really difficult.  Thanks also to everyone who took the time to vote and/or comment on the entries!

First, the winner of the Reader's Choice Award, based on the entry which received the most votes is:

Second, I had to pick a winner for Judge's Choice.  This was not at all easy.  I finally decided to base my vote on who I felt had been most creative with the sewing pattern, and my choice is:

She not only shortened the jacket and removed the sleeves, but also added a hood and made it completely reversible.  For sheer practicality alone, I felt she deserved the win.  (She also placed 3rd overall in popular vote.)

But I can't just leave it there.  I wanted to recognize some of our other awesome entries with Honorable Mentions.  But how to select only a couple from out of all the great choices?  Ultimately I'm ducking responsibility and awarding two Honorable Mention awards to our 2nd and 4th place popular vote getters:

Both of these ladies will receive digital copies of all 5 of my sewing patterns.

And there we go!  I hope everyone enjoyed the contest.  Winners, I will be emailing you today regarding your prizes.  If for some reason you don't receive a message from me within 24 hours, please email me at steamingenious@gmail.com

  4. Thank you for offering to show off our creations in this contest. I am HONORED to have won! I am not a pro, (I can't sew a stitch without a pattern) but was happy with how my coat turned out. I think a lot of it is the amazing material I found online.
But again, THANK YOU SO much to everyone who voted, it gave me confidence that I lack to continue!

  6. These were all really awesome... I do think it's interesting that none of the ones I would have picked got an honourable mention or a prize! There was no overlap AT ALL. :) Different taste I guess.
