Friday Finds: Steamy New Modcloth Items

Look, I swear I don't go looking for things on Modcloth to share with you.  Well, not intentionally, that is.  I follow one little link and suddenly I'm going, "Ooo, that's really nice, look how steampunk..."  and suddenly I have a posts worth of links.  So here you go.

Madame Cutie Top - This looks like the perfect black Victorian-styled blouse to me.  It's really not terribly easy to find pieces like this in black that are fine for everyday, light steampunk, or full costume.  It's probably a good thing they are out of my size, or I'd be in trouble.

Steampunk Princess Bootie - Ok, it's kinda unfair when they use Steampunk in the title of the item.  It makes my job seem REALLY easy.

If the heel of the last one intimidates you, try this amazingly cute heeled Mary Jane.  Ok, it's a little plain, but HOW CUTE IS IT??  This is so my style of shoe.  And about as much heel as I can handle.

All Hands on Deco Earrings  I tend to consider Art Deco styled things "honorary steampunk" because the looks go so well together.  These earrings in particular just struck me as something that would look FANTASTIC with the right steampunk outfit.

Cut From the Same Cloth Boots - I don't need to explain this, right?  It's a stylish brown heeled boot.

Gramophone Glam Heel - These shoes make me curse my messed up feet and ankles that keep me from wearing heels.  They are so cute and would work really well with any period inspired look from steampunk to 20s-30s to 50s.

Slice of Time Clock - I don't know what to say other than this is neat.  I like the look of a whole clock in a little space and the deconstruction of the classic.

Chocolatiers of Joy Boot - I hesitated on including this because although it is obviously very steampunk, I'm not wild about it.  Mostly because it looks very much like the cheap Funtasma steampunk costume boots.  I once bought a pair of those when I was a baby steampunk and they were really poor quality and very uncomfortable.  These look to be better made, but they really look very similar to those boots with a pointier heel.  YMMV.

  2. I totally get the art deco thing. It's just too stylish NOT to get co-opted into steampunk.
Also, I am so going to be on the lookout for a yard sale clock to do that to.
